Instructions
Step 1
Wash potatoes and cut in small pieces. Fill 2qt pot with cool water and add potatoes. Place on medium high heat and cook until water boils.
Step 2
Start heating neutral oil in a metal skillet on low to medium heat. Once hot, add beef patties. Allow patties to brown and crust.
Step 3
Once browned, flip patties to brown other side.
Step 4
Once other side is browned, add red wine to pan to deglaze.
Step 5
After all browned pieces are deglazed, add cream of mushroom soup. Use water to get the remaining soup out of can and to thin out the gravy in the pan. Pour soup/water mix into pan.
Step 6
Allow gravy to thicken and patties to finish cooking through on low to medium heat, covered until ready to serve, stirring infrequently. Meanwhile, check potatoes to see if they are fork tender.
Step 7
Once potatoes are fork tender, drain. Mix in sour cream, butter, and green onion. Mash until smooth.
Step 8
Heat green beans for 1-2 minutes in microwave.
Step 9
By now patties should be cooked through and gravy should have thickened slightly.
Step 10
Serve patties over potatoes with green beans on the side. Spoon gravy over potatoes and hamburger.
