Sandwich Bread/Buns

Basic white sandwich bread using yeast; mixed in a bread machine. This recipe uses honey instead of sugar and extra virgin olive oil in place of seed oils or butter. The egg adds protein to assist with a strong rise and added moisture in the finished bread. If using a bread machine, the recipe can be multiplied by 1.5 for a larger 15” loaf, but do not let it rise in the machine. If following the original recipe, you can also bake right in the machine but it may be more dense than you’d like. If making buns, follow the original recipe and instead of placing in loaf pan, equally divide into 8 and form into buns on baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

Instructions

Step 1
Add all ingredients to your bread machine in order (wet ingredients, then dry). Set to “knead” or “dough” setting. When the machine is done, transfer dough to an 8” loaf pan lined with parchment paper. Place in oven with light on until risen (double in size). Remove. Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 32 minutes. For a golden, shiny crust, use an egg wash before baking.
