Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 320 f 160 c then break up 350 grams of semi sweet dark chocolate ( you can also use milk chocolate if you prefer a sweeter cake ) either microwave the chocolate to melt it or put it in an oven proof bowl in the pre heating oven until melted !

Separate 5 eggs from yolks then one at a time add the yolks into the melted chocolate and stir vigorously to incorporate each one

Using an electric mixer Beat the egg whites on medium speed until nearly stiff peaks then take a spoonful of the mixture and fold into the melted chocolate to loosen it Fold the rest in until the batter Is silky and smooth then put in a lined greased cake tin about 18 cm and put in in the oven for about 35 minutes or until a cocktail stick inserted in the middle comes out clear

Melt 200 grams of chocolate in the microwave then add 50 ml hot water and whisk until smooth and thick . Pour over the cake then let it cool . Additionally add some grated dark chocolate and put on the outer edges of the cake
