Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. (177°C)
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine sugar and oil until blended.
Step 3
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step 4
Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and cloves.
Step 5
Add flour mixture to egg mixture alternately with pumpkin, beating well after each addition.
Step 6
Transfer to a greased and floured rectangular cake pan.
Step 7
Bake 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
Step 8
When cooled, dust with confectioners sugar or top with vanilla frosting.
