1 tablespooncinnamon
1 tablespoonvanilla extract
4 cupsflour
⅔ cupslight brown sugar
firmly packed
⅔ cupssugar
Instructions
Step 1
Mix cake according to directions (using 1 of the sticks of butter).
Step 2
Bake 20 minutes at 375º. Remove from oven and lower oven temp. to 350º.
Step 3
While the cake is in the oven prepare the crumbs
Step 4
In a glass bowl soften the butter and margarine by putting it in the microwave on defrost for about 1 minute. (don’t melt the butter & margarine all the way or you’ll have greasy crumbs).
Step 5
Add the cinnamon and vanilla and blend together (a whisk works well).
Step 6
Add to butter mixture. Blend ingredients together first using a spatula and then your hands to form crumbs. Put crumbs on the cake by squeezing and dropping crumbs onto the cake keeping the crumb fairly large.
Step 7
Bake another 20 minutes at 350º. Let cool.
Step 8
Shake confectionery sugar on the cake before serving. *Best when made the day before. Put the confectionery sugar on the same day you’re going to serve it.
