Cheeseburger and Tots Casserole

A classic cheeseburger and tots all-in-one dish. Inspired more by the idea of a midwestern hotdish than any actual thing, this is a musing mostly to see if it would really work out.

Instructions
Step 1
Cook up the tater tots according to minimum package directions until done but not crispy. They will finish at a later step.
Step 2
Brown the ground beef with the diced onions. Add the halved tomatoes for the last two minutes
Step 3
Melt butter in small sauce pan and whisk in flour until a smooth paste. Cook for two minutes. Slowly add milk and whisk until smooth and hot.
Step 4
Add cheese in small amounts and melt into mixture until all cheese is in and a sauce is formed. Reserve a quater cup of cheese for later. Sprinkle and mix mustard powder.
Step 5
Mix hamburger blend and cheese sauce together until very well incorporated. Pour into 9x9 pyrex dish
Step 6
Top first with almost done tots and then with remaining cheese. Broil for 3-5 minutes as is your preference.
