Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 450°F. In a medium bowl, use a sifter to sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Sifting the dry ingredients will make your biscuits really light and fluffy.

2. Create a well in your dry ingredients and add in the shortening using a fork and mix until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in the butter milk until mixture forms a soft dough and leaves the side of the bowl.

3. Put some extra flour on your hands and knead the dough a few times. Pinch off enough dough for the palm of your hand and roll into a ball and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

4. Once you have all the balls of biscuits on the baking sheet, dip your knuckles into flour and use the back of your hand to press down a bit on the biscuits

5. Bake at 450 degrees until lightly browned and enjoy!
