Instructions

How to cook biscuits:

Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Add lemon juice to 1 c raw milk. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to a bowl and whisk to combine. Add shortening to the flour mixture and cut in w/a pastry cutter or 2 knives until the flour resembles coarse crumbs. Pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients w/a wooden spoon and gently roll into a dough ball. Roll out the dough until it's a half inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter and press straight down and pull back up - do not twist. Place on parchment paper and brush w/melted butter. Place in oven for 14-16 min and then allow to cool.

How to cook sausage gravy

Step 2
Place sausage in a pan over medium heat and cook through. Pour onto a plate covered in a paper towel. Place butter in pan along w/milk + arrowroot starch. Give it a good whisk and turn the heat up to medium. Keep whisking and after 2 min turn it down to medium low. The gravy should thicken and then place the sausage back in.
