Instructions
Step 1
Slice mozzarella balls in half.
Step 2
Roll a small amount of dough around each mozzarella slice. Put each ball on a piece of parchment paper or plate off to the side.
Step 3
Boil 4 cups of water and add 1/4 cup of baking soda in a deep pot. Stir. Add pretzel balls and let them cook for 45 seconds (they should float) and then quickly remove them with a slotted spoon. Place on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 425ºF
Step 5
After you're done boiling all the pretzel balls, coat them with an egg wash. (To make the egg wash, just beat an egg and add 1 tablespoon of water)
Step 6
Sprinkle salt on top
Step 7
Bake at 425º for 10 to 15 minutes, or until golden.
Step 8
Place in a large ziplock bag WHILE STILL WARM. Add 1 tbsp butter and a generous amount of salt. Zip the bag shut and shake so that the butter will spread and melt around the pretzel balls.
