Ingredients
8 servings
6 teaspoonsrice vinegar
or apple cider
½ cupsoy sauce
low sodium, or tamari sauce
4 tablespoonshoisin sauce
mix bbq and honey/molasses if you don’t have
4 clovesroasted garlic
1 cupchicken broth
low sodium, or vegetable broth
¾ cupwhite sugar
or turbinado sugar
¾ cupbrown sugar
2 teaspoonfresh ginger
minced
1 teaspoongarlic powder
½ teaspoonred pepper flakes
2 tablespooncornstarch
Instructions
Step 1
Cook grated ginger and garlic with 1 tbsp of oil, in a medium pot, over a medium heat for 1-2 minutes
Step 2
Then add all the ingredients and whisk to combine. Place it over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until it starts to simmer.
Step 3
Continue to cook for 5 minutes, until the mixture begins to thicken. Once the sauce is thickened, remove from heat.
Step 4
Use as enriching dipping sauce, or blend with meat.
