Instructions
Step 1
Heat oil and fry whole spices for a few minutes ; add onions
Step 2
Sauté sliced onion in oil till pink in color. Add grated ginger, and garlic and sauté for a minute and then add crushed tomatoes. Sauté for another minute.
Step 3
Add all the ground spices (turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, coriander, cumin and salt. Sauté for a minute, add 1/4 cup of water if too dry.
Step 4
Add cleaned and cut chicken pieces and sauté until chicken turns white all around.
Step 5
Add Yogurt
Step 6
Add ½-1 cup of water depending how much gravy you’d like and lower gas to simmer for at least 20 minutes, mixing every 5 minutes
Step 7
Remove whole spices from food if possible
Step 8
Serve with rice, nan, or roti
