Instructions

Step 1
Combine the butter and sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy, then add the beaten egg and vanilla extract.
Step 2
Sift the flour and baking powder, and pour the chocolate chips into the mixture. Mix all the ingredients roughly — do not overwork the dough.
Step 3
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap, then leave it to chill for about 1 hour to allow flavour to infuse.
Step 4
Divide the dough into equal size pieces and roll them gently into balls using your hands. Place the dough balls evenly on the tray, leaving a space of about 4-5 cm between each ball to allow for spreading.
Step 5
Tap "Send to oven" to preheat the oven.
Step 6
Once you hear a beep, place the tray on the third level of the oven. Bake, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
