Tri Tip Chili
Versatile chili recipe, great for leftover tri tip or ground meat.

Ingredients
8 servings
1 lbtri tip tur
chopped, leftover, or lean ground key
0.5white onion
large onion, diced
1green bell pepper
diced
1jalapeno
finely diced
2cloves of garlic
minced
1 ½ Tbspolive oil
2 ½ tablespoonschili powder
2 tablespoonsground cumin
2 tablespoonstomato paste
½ teaspooncayenne pepper
½ teaspoonred pepper flakes
Salt
½ tspground pepper
to taste
1can beef broth
1can diced tomatoes
1can tomato sauce
2 cansbeans
recommended : 1 red kidney bean, 1 pinto bean
Instructions
Step 1
dd olive oil to a large pot and place over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell pepper and saute for about 3-5 minutes until they begin to sweat.
Step 2
If using turkey, add the ground turkey to the pot. Break apart and mix in with a spatula or wooden spoon until group. If using leftover tri tip, add the tri tip, jalapeno, and garlic, cook 2-3 minutes until the veggies sweat.
Step 3
Add can of beef broth and tomato paste and stir. Add all spices, stir until well combined, and mixture comes to a boil.
Step 4
Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and drained beans. Stir and bring liquid to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and gently simmer uncovered for ~15 minutes.
Step 5
Top with sour cream, grated cheddar cheese, green onion, or cilantro if desired.
