Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the broiler or prepare the grill.
Step 2
Use a strainer to lower onions into broiling water and blanch for 5 to 6 minutes, then drain.
Step 3
When onions are cool enough to handle, slip off the skins. (If the skins give you trouble, use a sharp paring knife to help remove them.)
Step 4
Place onions on skewers.
Step 5
In a small bowl, combine juice concentrates and soysauce.
Step 6
Use pastry brush to paint the mixture onto onions.
Step 7
Broil or grill until onions are just burnished, about 6 minutes.
Step 8
Rotate and baste frequently so onions cook evenly.
(This is easier to do on a grill than in a broiler.)
Step 9
Serve hot as an appetizer or side dish.
