Creamy Chili Mac & Cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°

Cook the pasta in salted water just until al dente, should only take about 6 minutes. Drain.

In a sauce pan add the butter. When melted add the flour and whisk together about 30 seconds.

Whisk in the milk and cream until everything is smooth. Then whisk in 2 cups of the cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Add all seasonings, stir, then add the elbow macaroni and stir until well mixed.

Add the macaroni to a greased 9x13 baking dish

Scoop the chili down the middle and carefully stir in, it doesn’t have to be thoroughly mixed, just a little. Add the remaining 1 cup of cheese on top.

Cover with foil (tip! spray the foil with nonstick spray first so the cheese doesn’t stick)

Bake 25 minutes if you’re using cold chili. Bake 10 minutes if the chili is room temperature.
Step 9
If desired you can put it under the broiler a minute or 2 to brown the cheese, just watch it so it doesn’t burn
