Very good, more like ratatouille on fried polenta. Next time, I might use a pre-made pasta sauce instead of canned tomatoes (just a personal preference).

Caponata is a Sicilian agridulce dish which is quite similar to the French Ratatouille, although there are differences in taste and texture. But both have eggplant and other common Mediterranean vegetables.
