We added about a tsp of garlic powder, but this came out tasting amazing. Few problems: 1) we have a stove that's way hotter than it should be. I can boil water in under 4 minutes. This led to all the liquid boiling out during the boiling step only 11 minutes in. Bit it's not like the author of this recipe knew that. When that happened, the potatoes were done, so we just moved on to the next step. 2) This came out more soup than Chowder. It's not thick enough. My old man said next time we are going to put everything but the half and half in, let it cook, not quite at a boil, for the 20 minutes and then add in the half and half for the last minute of simmer. He also told me that next time, we are going to double the recipe.
