Instructions

Step 1
Let’s make seasoning sauce in advance! In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 3 tablespoons of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of plum extract, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1/2 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru (red pepper flakes), 2 tablespoons of honey or corn syrup, 2 tablespoons of gochujang (red pepper paste),1 tablespoon of sesame seeds, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix well.
Step 2
Thinly slice some cabbage, cucumber, and carrot.
Step 3
You can leave the frozen jjolmyeon (chewy noodles) at room temperature for about 2 hours before using it, and the noodles that were stuck together will automatically separate.
Step 4
Add about 2 handfuls of soybean sprouts to boiling water. Open the lid and blanch them for about 2 minutes.
Step 5
After 2 minutes, take the soybean sprouts out and rinse them in cold water. And then drain the excess moisture.
Step 6
Put the Jjolmyeon in the boiling water that was used to blanch the soybean sprouts. Stir occasionally over high heat and cook for about 5 minutes.
Step 7
After 5 minutes, rinse the Jjolmyeon several times in cold water to remove excess starch. If you have ice, add it while rinsing. Drain the rinsed Jjolmyeon.
Step 8
Put the jjolmyeon and the blanched soybean sprouts in a bowl. Pour about half of the pre-made seasoning sauce first. Mix well.
Step 9
Place an appropriate amount the noodles in a bowl. Place the sliced vegetables on top. If you have boiled eggs, cut one and place it on top. Add a little more seasoning sauce if it is necessary. The sweet, tangy, and spicy Jjolmyeon is done!
