Instructions
Step 1
Prepare and clean smoked pork hocks from the package and transfer to a big pot, fill in cold water, bring to boil.
Step 2
Clean and use about 1/3 of a round cabbage and cut it into small sizes. Set aside.
Step 3
Once the soup pot starts to boil, continue to simmer on medium low heat for 30-40 minutes until the soup becomes white and creamy, this is a great way to add the smoked flavors into the broth.
Step 4
Add sliced round cabbage in the broth to cook until soft. Season with chicken powder and/or salt(if needed, but usually smoked pork hocks are already marinated with plenty of salt, there is no salt needed),garnish with chopped scallion.
Step 5
You may serve the soup with the cabbage alone or with sliced smoked pork hocks(once smoked pork hocks cool off.
