You can substitute with things you have on hand or to your preferences. Use rice malt syrup or honey instead of coconut syrup. Use another nut oil instead of coconut. Change up the dried fruits to suit your own tastes. If using non salted macadamias and coconut flakes, don't forget to add a pinch of salt to the mix. It helps to bring out the flavours and balance the sweet.

Dry Ingredients
½ cuppuffed brown rice
½ cuppuffed quinoa
½ cuppuffed buckwheat
⅓ cuprolled rice flakes
¼ cuptoasted coconut flakes
toasted & salted variety
¼ cupbran straws
½ cupmacadamias
chopped, roasted & salted variety
⅛ cupspelt flakes
⅛ cuppepitas
⅛ cupsunflower seeds
⅛ cupalmonds
slivered
⅛ cupsesame seeds
½ cupdried cranberries
chopped
Wet Ingredients
Instructions
Step 1
Combine all dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix thoroughly.
Step 2
In a saucepan combine the wet ingredients and stir over a low heat until melted and combined. Allow to cool for a few minutes.
Step 3
Add the dry ingredients to the saucepan and stir until well coated.
Step 4
Spread onto a tray lined with baking paper and put in the oven for 15-20 mins. Timing will depend on how hot your oven is.
Step 5
Allow to cool completely before putting into an airtight container.
Step 6
Serve with yoghurt or even whipped cream.
