Step 1
In a large pot combine chicken broth, carrots, potatoes, and onion powder
Step 2
Bring to a boil cover and simmer for 10 minutes
Step 3
Add b broccoli and simmer for anther 10 minutes
Step 4
While simmering melt butter in a large sauce pan. Whisk in the flour and cook until golden brown. Whisk in milk and cook for 5 minutes
Step 5
Add cheese and stir until melted. Add salt and pepper
Step 6
Pour cheese sauce into large pot and stir
Step 7
Top with cooked bacon bits
