Miso Soup with Clams

Japanese comfort food!! Miso soup is a traditional Japanese soup consisting of a dashi stock into which softened miso paste is mixed. You arrange miso soup with any vegetable and protein. Instructions

Step 1
Soak the clams in a large bowl of salted water for 1 hour. Wash the clams with water.
Step 2
Add water in a medium sauce pan and bring to a low simmer.
Step 3
Add dashi powder (fish broth).
Step 4
In a small bowl, stir the miso paste together with some of the hot broth until the mixture is smooth, then stir it back into the soup.
Step 5
Add clams, and cook until they open.
Step 6
Serve with green onions.
