Mom’s Perfect Gameday Chili
A recipe I’ve been enjoying for years - the perfect Colorado Chili for that first cold day of fall. Works well with a ground beef meat substitute as well.

Ingredients
8 servings
2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
1 cupchopped onion
2cloves garlic
minced
2 cupswater
2 poundsground beef
or a meat substitute
2 x 16 ouncesDark Red Kidney Beans
cans, drained
1 ½ teaspoonssalt
1 tablespoonchili powder
hot sauce
1 tablespoonground cumin
mom suggests a bit less
2 teaspoonsworcestershire sauce
1 tablespoonsugar
2cans tomato sauce
1can diced tomatoes

Instructions
Step 1
In heavy saucepan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until warm.
Step 2
Add onions and garlic and saute until soft. Add beef and salt. Cook until beef is browned throughout. Drain excess fat.
Step 3
Add chili, cumin, Worcestershire, tomato sauce and water. Bring pot to low boil and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Add BUSH'S BEST Dark Red Kidney Beans and simmer 15 minutes. Add hot sauce to taste. Top with desired toppings
