Step 1
Cover chicken in buttermilk, 2 tbsp of salt, 1 tsp black pepper, & hot sauce
Step 2
Marinate chicken in fridge for 2 hours
Step 3
Combine garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, smoked paprika, white pepper, & the rest of the salt & pepper into a small bowl
Step 4
Whisk in spice mixture to flour mixture
Step 5
After marinating, place each piece of chicken in flour mixture and set aside
Step 6
Place vegetable oil in deep skillet or electric skillet 1 inch deep
Step 7
Bring oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Step 8
Cook chicken in batches, turning it over when one side browns. Cook until internal temp is 165 degrees
