Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, melt together the butter and 100 grams of white chocolate. You can melt it using the double boiler method or a simple microwave works well too! Allow for the mixture to cool.
butter½ cup
white chocolate100 grams
Step 2
In a separate bowl, cream together the white granulated sugar, brown sugar and eggs until the mixture is light in color and fluffy. (~4-5 mins with an electric whisk)
white granulated sugar150 grams
dark brown sugar50 grams
eggs3
Step 3
Once the mixture has been creamed, add in the flour, matcha powder (2-3 tbsp- i like a strong matcha flavor so i use 3 tbsp but 2 tbsp is more suitable for most people), salt and cooled white chocolate butter mixture.
all purpose flour1 cup
matcha powder3 Tbsp
salt½ tsp
Step 4
Fold the mixture until you no longer see any flour streaks.
Step 5
Add in the white chocolate chips. You can add as much as you want.
white chocolate chips50 grams
Step 6
pour your batter into a 9 inch square baking dish lined with parchment paper.
Step 7
use a spatula to even the surface of the batter.
Step 8
before baking, bang your pan on your kitchen counter 5-6 times to get rid of any air bubbles and to evenly distribute the batter.
Step 9
preheat your oven to 350°F (if using a light colored baking dish) or 325°F (if using a dark colored baking dish).
Step 10
bake for 25-30 minutes or until an inserted tooth pick comes out with a smear of green color on the toothpick with NO wet batter (only a few moist crumbs).
Step 11
after baking, allow the brownies to cool in the baking dish for 10 mins and then move them to a wire rack and allow to cool for 30 mins before cutting in.
Step 12
slice into 9 even squares and enjoy!
