Step 1
Saute onions and mushrooms
In a large saucepan, combine heavy cream, 1/4 cups milk, butter, white wine, garlic, white pepper, black pepper, nutmeg, and salt.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together 1/3 cup milk, Parmesan, cornstarch, and mushroom soup mix.
Step 3
Bring liquid to a boil.
Step 4
Add Parmesan-cornstarch mixture and whisk for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Continue to cook until sauce thickens.
Step 6
Serve over pasta with mushrooms and sauted onions.
