Step 1
1 - Trim Brussel sprouts and cut into similar size pieces
Step 2
2 - Cut bacon into small pieces or lardons
Step 3
3 - Add bacon to pan and cook until crispy. Remove to paper towel to drain.
Step 4
4 - Put Brussel sprouts in pan and stir to coat them with the bacon grease. If using onions, add now. Cook for several minutes until browned on each side, about 10 mins.
Step 5
5 - add butter and broth to pan and cover. Cook until sprouts are tender, about 15 mins.
Step 6
6 - Add parmesan cheese to pan and stir to combine. Cover pan for a couple of minutes to allow the parmesan cheese to melt.
Step 7
7 - Remove from heat and stir in the reserved bacon.
