Dirty Rice with Red Beans

A delicious and filling one pot meal of rice, ground sausage, and veggies. For a bit of added spice, add a dash or 2 of cayenne pepper!

Instructions

Step 1
Brown the sausage along with the onions and peppers. Do not drain.
Step 2
Add rice and toast it for a couple of minutes, until some of the grains are a light golden brown, stirring often.
Step 3
Drain the liquid from the can of beans and add to the rice mixture along with the water, and cover.
Step 4
Simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes, or until all the water is gone and the rice is tender. Do not remove the lid until cooked.
Step 5
Remove from heat. Stir and serve.
