450gchicken thighs
bone-in
2cloves garlic
minced
1 tablespoonhoney
1 tablespoonrice wine vinegar
1 tablespoonsoy sauce
1 tablespoonoyster sauce
1 teaspoondark soy sauce
1 teaspoonfive-spice powder
¼ teaspoonwhite pepper
or black
4 Tablespoonswhite sugar
4 Tablespoonsbrown sugar
¼ tspsesame seed oil
⅛ tspKorean chili powder
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, mix all the Char Siu Sauce ingredients together. Stir to mix well. Add the garlic, chicken and the Char Siu Sauce together.
Step 2
Allow to marinade for about 30 minutes.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 400°.
Step 4
In a large, oven safe pan, drizzle some vegetable oil and place on medium high heat. Once hot, add the chicken, allowing the marinade to drop off before adding each piece to the pan. Cook for a few minutes on each side.
Step 5
Place in oven for 15 minutes or until chicken reaches 165°.
Step 6
I’m a small saucepan, add the rest of the marinade and cook on medium low until thickened.
Step 7
Serve with white rice and Asian cucumber salad. Drizzle the glaze over the chicken and rice to serve.
