Instructions
Step 1
Put butter and oil in a pan. Add onions and garlic. Fry until pale gold.
Step 2
Stir in curry powder and flour. Add cloves, tomato purée, ginger and cinnamon, pickle, lemon juice and sugar.
Step 3
Gradually blend in stock. Slowly bring to the boil.
Step 4
Lower heat, salt and pepper. Cover pan and simmer slowly for 45-60 minutes.
Step 5
Fry chunks of chicken and add to the sauce.
