Ingredients

150 gramsred lentils
500 milliliterswater
150 gramsbulgur
brown soft
½ cupolive oil
1yellow onion
large, finely chopped
1 teaspooncumin
1 teaspoonRed Chili powder
1 teaspoonsalt
3 tablespoonschili paste
or pepper molasses
1green bell pepper
cut into small cubes
2 tablespoonsparsley
chopped
1 teaspoonmint
green, chopped
½ cuppomegranate
whole grain
Fresh mint leaves
for garnishing
For the sauce
Instructions
To make the kibbeh:
Step 1
In a small bowl, sauté the onions with half the amount of olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes, add the cumin and the chili pepper, and cook for a minute, add the lentils and water. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Add bulgur and season with salt, then transfer the mixture to a bowl.
Step 3
When the mixture cools, add the chili paste, the balance of the olive oil, bell pepper, parsley, mint then Knead the mixture for several minutes, either with the palm of your hands or in an electric mixer, until it sticks like a dough.
Step 4
Put the mixture in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
Step 5
Cut the kibbeh into small balls.
Moisten your hand with a little olive oil and form the kibbeh with the fingers.
Step 6
Sprinkle the pomegranate in each Kibbeh finger, garnish with green mint and serve with sauce.
To make the sauce:
Step 7
Mix all sauce ingredients together, it is ready to use.
