Instructions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place ham hocks on a baking sheet and roast in oven for about an hour.
Step 2
When ham hocks are done take out of the oven and allow them to cool until you can touch them safely. Then cut the meat off the hocks. I prefer to cut medium-ish sized chunks.
Step 3
In your biggest pot, combine all the ingredients and cook on medium-low heat until the peas are cooked. Make sure you stir frequently or the peas will stick to the bottom of the pot. It probably takes about 1.5-2 hours, but the best way to determine is just to taste.
Step 4
When finished, adjust seasoning as needed and enjoy.
