Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.

In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and lemon zest. Mix until well combined.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stir in lemon juice.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients the the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few crumbs.

Let the brownies cool completely in the pan.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth and combined.

Once the brownies are cool, pour the glaze over the top, spreading it evenly.

Allow the glaze to set for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

Note: Ensure to allow the brownies to cool completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting into the brownies.
