Instructions

Step 1
1. Melt your butter over medium heat until it's golden brown (there will be a bit of a nutty aroma).

2. Transfer to a bowl, let it cool for a while, and whisk in your brown sugar.

3. If the butter is still hot to touch, let it cool further before adding in your egg, yolk, vanilla, and buttermilk.

4. Add in your butterscotch chips and nuts. Make sure to distribute evenly.

5. Sift in your flour, baking powder, and salt (this is where you also add your cinnamon and nutmeg if you wish) and gently fold them in. Be careful not to overwork your dough!

6. Add in your milk (or choco milk), just until the dough loosens a bit.

7. Transfer to your greased pan, top with sliced almonds, and bake for 30 to 33 min. at 175°C (347°F)

8. Let cool for about 5 minutes in the pan before transfering it to a sheet of baking paper. They will be hot and soft, but let it cool for 15 to 20 min. and they'll set right up!
