This is my great grandmas recipes that I have cooked so many times. I think other banana bread recipes are dry without the buttermilk

Instructions

Step 1
Make the buttermilk first. Measure out 1 cup milk and add 1 tbsp of white vinegar then set aside till you need it.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 375. Cream the butter, add the sugar gradually. Once mixed add the beat eggs, bananas, and vanilla. Set aside. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients slowly as you mix. Once mixed you can add 1/2 cup of buttermilk. Oil and flour one loaf pan then pour in your banana bread. Place the loaf pan in the oven for 45 to 60 minutes. Test the bread with a knife or tooth pick. If the knife or tooth pick come out with dough still on it cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. If the knife or tooth pick comes out clean your banana bread is done. Set the loaf pan on a hot pad and let it cool before taking the banana bread out of the pan. Enjoy with butter
