German for plumb cake. My great grandma would make tray fulls and tray fulls of it during plumb season. I remember my grandpa telling us stories of his four brothers eating five pan fulls in one day.

Combine yeast, 1 tsp sugar, and 1/2 cup scalded milk. Stir and let double in size. To the rest of the scalded milk add butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla. When lukewarm add the egg and flour (add flour 1 cup at a time). Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Cover dough and let rise until doubled in size. Spread dough into a greased 9/12 sheet pan. Brush light coat of butter over dough. Add sliced plumbs and brush fruit with butter. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over fruit. Preheat over to 350 degrees. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake for 30 minutes until fruit is soft and dough is golden brown.
