These date and nut rusks are delicious and wholesome. Who doesn’t enjoy a rusk with that first cup of morning coffee especially during this weather?

Instructions

Step 1
Melt butter and dates and keep aside in liquid form
Step 2
Mix dry ingredients together
Step 3
Make a well in the centre and add melted butter with dates, oil and yoghurt mixture
Step 4
Mix until well combined
Step 5
Press down into an oven pan or rusk pan
Step 6
Top with flaked almonds, sesame seeds and a drizzle of honey
Step 7
Bake for 30 minutes on 180° C
Step 8
Leave to cool then slice into rectangles
Step 9
Dry for 4 hours on 100° C
