Instructions

Step 1
Rinse then soak dried beans in water over night.
Step 2
2. Place in pot with enough water to cover the beans with 2” overhead. 3. Boil beans and remove foam that forms.

4. After foam is gone and no more is being made, add salt, broth, brown sugar, onion, and garlic.

5. Simmer for 1-2 hours until beans are soft. Add water if the level of water gets below the level of the beans.

6. Add a slurry of cornstarch and water to pot to thicken remaining liquid. Notes

MADE: Finally a version of beans that Christopher likes! Used the beans in a burrito and everyone loved it. Freezing some leftover in ice cube trays to use for future burritos or over rice.
