Sandwich Bake
2 steps
Prep:15minCook:35min
A savoury bread and butter style pudding using regular sandwiches instead of slices of buttered bread. This is great for little ones practicing their sandwich-making skills. It won't matter if the knife goes through the bread, in fact it makes for a better bake. Try to resist helping too much - sometimes you need to mangle a few pieces of bread to learn the hard way.

Instructions
Step 1
Grease a 24 x 14cm, 4cm deep ovenproof dish with a little butter. Butter one side of all the bread and make into sandwiches by scattering 2 of the slices with a third of the cheese each and cover with a slice of ham. Place the other two slices on top and squash together a little. Using scissors, cut each sandwich into four triangles, then line up in the dish with the point of the triangle facing upwards.

Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and bake for 35 minutes until set and brown. Serve with baked beans for a TV dinner, kid style.
