Shrimp Penne Alla Vodka

Ingredients
4 servings
1 lbshrimp
large, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoonGarlic Pepper
1 teaspoonpaprika
1shallot
minced
3cloves of garlic
minced
1 teaspooncrushed red pepper
¼ cupvodka
1 cupheavy cream
¼ cuppasta water
1 tablespoonbasil paste
1 boxpenne pasta
parmesan cheese
for garnish
parsley
for garnish
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
2 tablespoonsolive oil
1 tablespoonbutter
Instructions
Step 1
1. In a large pot, boil penne pasta according to box directions. Set aside.
Step 2
2. Season shrimp with Chilau’s Garlic Pepper Seasoning and paprika.
Step 3
3. In a skillet over medium heat, add one tablespoon of olive oil and butter.
Step 4
4. Sear shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
5. In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté shallots and garlic until softened. Add crushed red peppers.
Step 6
6. Deglaze the pan with vodka and add crushed tomatoes and basil paste.
Step 7
7. Simmer for 5-7 minutes to allow alcohol to burn off.
Step 8
8. Season sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Then add heavy cream and pasta water and stir until well combined.
Step 9
9. Add penne pasta into the sauce and then add the cooked shrimp.
Step 10
10. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and parsley.
