Donna Rathmell German’s White Bread

“This is a very rich bread—terrific for sandwiches. You’ll find yourself going back for more and more.. It is not, however, one of the more dietetic. Well worth the calories anyway! Use an egg white, egg yolk or 2 tbs. egg substitute for 1/2 egg” ~ Donna Rathmell German.
“This is a fail proof recipe. I know firsthand. I made it for the first time yesterday to test out my new KBS bread machine. That too seems to be fail-proof. I did everything wrong with my machine that you can think of (I couldn’t find the manual. I hid it to well. Lol). I even set it for the wrong size and my measurements were not accurate. I set the machine for medium crust and soft bread. It came out perfectly and was delicious! Hubby and I had it with our rack of lamb dinner last night. The bread rose beautifully and even though I set the machine for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf, it came out a 2 lb. loaf, which I wanted. I strongly recommend the cookbook and the KBS Large 17 in 1 Bread Machine.
For the recipe, I am putting the measurements for the 1 lb. loaf first and then, putting the 1 1/2 and 2 lb. measurements in parentheses.” ~ Marilyn Sultar
NOTE: I omitted the nonfat dry milk. I like to make my bread paerve (paerve means I can serve it with dairy or meat meals). Also, it is a product I don’t have in the house. ~ Marilyn Sultar

Step 1
Put ingredients in the order your machine manual says to.
Step 2
Set you machine to make the bread according to the manual. I suggest setting for normal or soft bread, medium crust.
