For the sauce:
1can tomato paste
small
14 ouncescrushed tomatoes
good quality
1 tablespoonminced garlic
1 ยฝ tablespoonsbasil paste
8 ouncescream cheese
softened
1 tspdried rosemary
1 tspdried thyme
ยฝ tspdried parsley
ยฝ tspdried oregano
ยผ cupHalf and half
For the pasta:
Instructions
Step 1
In a large saucepan, add water. Season the water heavily with salt. Add a glue of olive oil, but not too much. You only need enough to keep the pasta from sticking. Bring the water to boil.
Step 2
While the water is cooking, in a large sauce pan at med-low heat add a T of oil. Heat this until hot, but not HOT. Add the garlic and brown until fragrant.
Step 3
Add the basil and tomato pastes to the garlic. Stir until the tomato paste starts to darken. Add the crushed tomatoes and spices. Allow the sauce to simmer.
Step 4
Add the pasta to the boiling water. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until tender.
Step 5
Add the cream cheese to the sauce. Stir well and keep on low heat until all the cream cheese is incorporated. Add the half and half until sauce reaches desired consistency.
Step 6
Add the pasta to the sauce.
Step 7
