Instructions
Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Pour in the warm water with cooking oil in it and knead to form dough. Separate the dough into 3 or 4 small pieces. Cover and let rest for at least twenty minutes.
Step 2
Once rested, roll each dough piece out to ¼ inch thick on a lightly floured surface. Cut the flat dough pancake into 3 or 4 inch pieces. Let them rest again for another 30 minutes.
Step 3
Heat cooking oil in a deep fryer or heavy bottomed pan to 375 degrees (or you can also use a chopstick to test the oil, if chopstick starts to bubble, that means it has reached the right temperature).
Step 4
Gently throw rested dough pieces one by one in hot oil, fry until golden brown on both sides (use chopsticks to flip as needed), and remove from the heat and then drain on paper towels. Serve warm drizzled with honey and/ or powdered sugar, jam and ice cream of your choice, enjoy! ~
