Soup
1.5 ozflour
1.5 ozbutter
1yellow onion
diced
4carrots
grated
6 cupswater
¼ cupgreen lentils
½ tspground ginger
½ tspgarlic powder
cayenne pepper
optional
1 Tbspconsumme powder

Instructions
Soup
Step 1
Heat flour and butter in a wide pot on low heat, whisking occasionally, until liquidy and bubbling. Kinda looks like pancake batter. It'll look dry and weird to start with but just keep at it. Takes like 10 minutes from solid butter
Step 2
Add 1 cup water and whisk until the lumps are gone
Step 3
Add remaining water
Step 4
Add onion, carrots, and all the seasonings
Step 5
Simmer gently with a lid on for 10 minutes (peeking is fine)
Step 6
While that is simmering, mix all the dumpling stuff together in a bowl until just combined. I mixed it too much and it got kinda tough but still tasted fine
Step 7
Add lentils and bring to a boil
Step 8
Once boiling, gently add dollops of batter to the top of the soup. Do kinda small ones they get really big otherwise. Try to put them around so they don't fuse together
Step 9
Put the lid on, lower the heat, and let simmer for 15 minutes. (NO PEEKING)
Step 10
Salt and pepper to taste and eat it
