Instructions
Step 1
For the pesto blend the basil, pine nuts, 2 cloves of garlic, 100ml olive oil and the parmesan.
Step 2
Cook the pasta in salted boiling water. Reserve a mugful of the pasta water.
Step 3
Drop the peas and asparagus into a pan and cook for 2-3 minutes or until just tender.
Step 4
Return the pasta to a hot pan with 6 tbsp of pesto, 4 tbsp of pasta water and the cream. Stir until all the pasta is coated in the creamy pesto. Add the peas, asparagus, grated parmesan and a little more seasoning to taste, then stir once more. Serve straightaway, sprinkled with the remaining parmesan.
