Ingredients
10 servings
½ cupunsalted butter
cut into 8 pieces
2 tablespoonssugar
2 tablespoonssoy sauce
2 tablespoonshoisin sauce
1 tablespoonsesame oil

¾ teaspoongarlic powder
¾ teaspoonground ginger
¾ teaspooncayenne pepper
8 cupspopped popcorn
6 cupsrice cereal
squares
1 x 5 ounceschow mein noodles
can
1 x 3 ozrice cracker
asian, snack mix
2 cupssalted roasted cashews
or dry-roasted peanuts
1 cupwasabi peas
or dried peas
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 250°F with racks in upper and lower thirds.
Step 2
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and whisk in sugar, soy, hoisin, garlic powder , ginger, and cayenne.
Step 3
Remove from heat.
Step 4
Combine popcorn, rice cereal, chow mein noodles, Asian snack mix, cashews, and wasabi peas in a very large bowl.
Step 5
Drizzle with butter mixture and toss well to coat. Spread evenly in 2 large (18- by 13 inch) rimmed sheet pans.
Step 6
Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, a total of 1 hour.
Step 7
Cool completely in pans on racks.
Step 8
cooks’ notes: Snack mix can be made 2 days ahead and kept in an airtight container, at room temperature.
Step 9
If for some reason it needs to be re-crisped, reheat it in the rimmed sheet pans in a 250 degree F oven for 10-15 minutes.
