Fish Fillet Braised in Lemony Cumin Sauce

Instructions

Step 1
Rinse & pat dry the fish, season lightly with salt & pepper.
Step 2
Put the flour, pinch of salt & pepper on a plate and mix well, turn the fish fillet into this to coat them all over, then shake vigorously to remove the excess flour, set aside.
Step 3
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in saucepan over medium-high heat, add garlic and cook 1 minute, stirring frequently, lower heat to medium, pour in lime juice, and add the cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper, cook for 10 more minutes; stir occasionally.
Step 4
In a large skillet, heat 2 to 3 tbsp olive oil, add the the fish fillets, sear for 2 to 3 minutes, flip and sear for additional 3 to 4 minutes or until fish is 70% cooked through in the thickest part.
Step 5
Pour the sauce in the fish skillet, cook all for about 5-7 mins until the fish fillet fully absorbs the flavors and cooked through (it should be flaky).
Step 6
** Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
Step 7
For serving; place the fish fillet in a serving plate, pour the sauce over the fish, garnish the top with the fresh cilantro and serve immediately with Lebanese rice or your favorite crusty bread.

Note:

** Taste the sauce; If it's too sour, add a half teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt.
